SHAKIRA SIMPSON

Shakira started dancing at The Deborah Day Theatre School at the age of 6. Whilst being there she attained ISTD exams In Ballet, Modern Advanced 1, Tap Advanced 2. Shakira took part in a variety of performances including 3 Pantomimes at The Broadway Barking, and made her WestEnd debut at the age of 9 playing the role of Young Nala in 'The Lion King' then went on to play Margaret Gormley in WestEnds 'Billy Elliot'.

As well as performing she took part in local and national dance competitions winning many medals and trophies one being. World Tap Champion (2012). After training at DDTST for 12 years Shakira went on to her Level 3 Teaching Qualification In ISTD Modern and Tap and is continuing her studies to complete the level 4 (DDE). Shakira is now furthering her training at The Urdang Academy where she aspires to go back into the West End and continue her Professional Career.
